Here at Lincoln City Libraries we have just finished a remarkable summer. We challenged 400 teens to finish the summer reading program. Boy did you guys surpass that number. I think around 600 teens actually finished the program (visited the library 4 times and read at least 1500 pages). So on August 1st several librarians dyed their hair *strange* colors. If you didn’t see us on the news check out this picture!
Lots of teens are now busy using up the great prizes they earned by completing the program. Tons of people came out to Chipotle on August 1st for the wrap parties. We had a good time seeing you and your families and of course eating that wonderful Chipotle food. I hope to see a lot of you at Library night at the Saltdog’s baseball game. Don’t forget to get your Saltdog tickets ordered before August 15th to save a lot of time in line. And I suppose that there will be a lot of skating going on at Skate Zone in the next few weeks. I am sorry I will miss that - but I can hardly stand up on skates let alone go forward.I hope you guys all had a great summer. I hope you enjoyed reading all your pages and spending time at the library. I know we sure had fun seeing you! And I hope you will continue to visit the library during the school year!
