 Countdown to the Academy Awards - Feb 29, 2004 On February 29, 2004, the 76th annual Academy Awards celebration were televised live from Hollywood, honoring the best motion pictures released in 2003, including The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, awarded the Oscar for Best Picture. The Lincoln City Libraries has a large collection of books about the Oscars, film-making and film history. In addition, we own numerous entertainment biographies associated with individuals who are Oscar winners, not to mention the novels that many Oscar-winning films were based on. In celebration of the annual Academy Award ceremony, we created an eclectic display of books, videos and CDs associated with The Oscars and film history set up on top of the Super Over-Sized [S.O.S.] shelving range, in the northeast corner of 2nd floor (by the Biographies). If you'd like to see more books about motion pictures and the actors, writers and directors responsible for their production, we encourage you to search our library catalog.
