Monty Python's Flying Circus, often simply known as Monty Python (or occasionally just The Pythons), was an extremely influential British comedy sketch television series, featuring a cast of six (with lots of numerous supporting cast members) witty, sardonic and sarcastic comedians. The stars were Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The series produced 45 episodes over the course of four seasons, running from 1969 to 1974. In addition to the individual television episodes, the same cast produced a number of motion pictures together, most notably Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life of Brian and Monty Python's Meaning of Life. Although the group technically disbanded in 1974, with the exception of the movies, the cast members have reunited off-and-on, sometimes just in pairs, for various projects both on screen and in print. The libraries own a wide variety of Python-related titles, identified in the list below.
