Lincoln City Libraries (LCL) celebrated National Voter Registration Day Tuesday, September 25 by offering voter registration applications at all public library locations. The applications will remain available through the October 19 registration deadline. Library staff will collect completed forms and deliver them to the Lancaster County Election Commissioner.
“Founded in 2012, National Voter Registration Day was designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right – the right to vote,” said Dave Shively, Lancaster County Election Commissioner. “More than two million Americans have registered to vote on this day since the inaugural event.”
“Libraries exist to ensure the free flow of information for all people and to provide the resources the public needs to be well informed and to participate fully and actively in every aspect of society,” said Pat Leach, LCL Director. “Lincoln City Libraries is proud to celebrate National Voter Registration Day by providing voter registration applications.”
