The 2008 Newbery and Caldecott Award winners have been announced!
The winner of the Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children's literature is Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices From a Medieval Village by Laura Amy Schlitz, illustrated by Robert Byrd.
The winner of the Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children is The Invention of Hugo Cabret, illustrated by Brian Selznick.
