Martin Luther King Jr. Day:
is a national holiday honoring the life of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The holiday falls on the third Monday in January. In 2009, the day will be celebrated on January 19th. In recent years, the holiday has also included the King Day of Service, for those who wish to honor Dr. King with service to their community.
