Newbery Medal Winners

The Newbery Medal for outstanding youth fiction is given annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, which is a division of the American Library Association, dating back to 1922. The award is named for the 18th-century British bookseller John Newbery. Most years also feature a listing of Newbery Honor Books — titles that the selection committee felt were worth acknowledging, but which didn’t win the actual Newbery Medal for that year. You can visit the official Newbery Medal website to see more information about all the winners and Honor books.

NOTE: The titles in this list are “hotlinked” to the library’s catalog, for all those titles currently owned by the Lincoln City Libraries. If, for any reason, we do not own a circulation copy of a Newbery Medal award-winner, we encourage you to track down those titles through our InterLibrary Loan service.
