Winter Olympics Reading List
The Winter Olympics start the first week of February, 2022, and with that I’ve come up with a Part 2 to my Olympics booklists. Click on the link here to see Part 1, the extensive Summer Olympics Reading List.
There’s just something about watching athletes compete for their country that seems to bring us all together. And what is a better time to stay at home and watch than when the world is suffering through a pandemic?!
The Winter Olympics have a significantly smaller list of events compared to the Summer ones but that doesn’t make them any less exciting. While Snowboarding and Figure Skating are probably the most popular events, don’t sleep on things like Bobsledding – riding a sled with giant blades at speeds of 80 miles per hour – or the Biathlon where people literally ski and then shoot rifles at targets.
In the list below I’ve broken down the items in our collection – and a few through Interlibrary Loan – into categories for easy searching/viewing. It includes items from our adult, teen, and youth collections, as well as a few items from our digital/electronic collection.
