Library Learning Times (Storytimes)

Here is a printable schedule of our Library Learning Times for June and July.

Lincoln City Libraries will follow Directed Health Measures from the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department. We monitor the COVID situation in our community and may use attendance limits, masking and/or distancing in our Library Learning Times as advised by the Health Department.

For children birth to 18 months. An interactive parent-child time with fun activities designed to promote early literacy, language development and a love of books.
Eiseley Branch: Monday, 10:35-10:55 a.m.
Gere Branch: Monday, 10:05-10:25 a.m.
Tuesday, 10:45-11:05 a.m.

Toddler Time
For children ages 18-36 months and parents or caregivers. Stories, songs, and activities designed to support early literacy skills by building vocabulary and sharing age-appropriate stories in a fun, active, engaging environment.
Anderson Branch: Monday, 10:30-10:50 a.m
Bethany Branch: Tuesday, 10:30-10:50 a.m.
Eiseley Branch: Wednesday & Thursday, 10:35-10:55 a.m.
Walt Branch: Tuesday & Wednesday, 10:15-10:35 a.m. & 11:00-11:20 a.m.

For children ages three, four, and five. A half-hour of books and activities supporting early literacy by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a wide variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities.

Bethany Branch: Thursday, 10:30-11 a.m.
Eiseley Branch: Tuesday, 7-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday & Thursday, 10:30-11 a.m.
Walt Branch: Tuesday & Wednesday, 10:15-10:45 a.m. & 11:00-11:30 a.m.

Music and Movement
For children 18 months–5 years old and their caregivers. Dance, sing, play, wiggle and learn with our storytellers during this interactive storytime.
Gere Branch: Tuesdays, 10:05-10:35 a.m.
Wednesdays, 10:45–11:15 a.m.
Thursdays, 10:05–10:35 a.m. & 6:30-7:00 p.m.

Wee Workouts
For children two to five years old. Get kids moving and interacting with a fun literacy component.
Eiseley Branch: Tuesday, 10:35 – 10:55 a.m.

All-Ages and Families
For families with children from infancy to age 8.
Bennett Martin Public Library: Sunday, 4-5 p.m.
Eiseley Branch: Sunday, 1-1:30 p.m.
Gere Branch: Wednesday, 10:05 – 10:35 a.m. and Thursday, 10:45-11:15 a.m.
South Branch: Wednesday, 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Walt Branch: Saturday, 10:30-11:00 a.m.
Williams Branch: Tuesday, 10:30-11:00 a.m.

Sensory Storytime
A storytime for children who may need a little extra attention or a more controlled environment.
Gere Branch: June 4 through July 9
Saturday, 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Around Town Storytimes
Join Read Aloud Lincoln at these parks and places in the Lincoln area for storytimes: featuring stories, movement, music and more. All sessions are 30 minutes except Yoga in the Park which is 45 minutes. Look for the LNKLibraries feather flag!

June 3: Museum of Speed (599 Oakcreek Dr.)
June 10: Yoga in the Park – Pioneers Park (by columns)

June 24: Tractor Museum (N. 35th and Fair Streets)
July 1: History Nebraska (131 Centennial Mall North)
July 8: Yoga in the Park – Mahoney Park (North 70th and Adams Streets, by covered pavilion)
July 15: Sheldon Sculpture Garden (12th and R Streets)
July 17: College View Farmers Market (4801 Prescott Ave.)
July 22: Southern Heights Food Forest (5750 S 40th St.)

All are at 10:30 a.m. except at College View, where we will start at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Storytimes To Go

Storytimes To Go are intended for day care providers or parents that want to create a simple storytime for their children. We currently have ten Storytime themes to choose from. Library staff will put the plan and five books that match the theme into a book bag for you to pick up at the library. There is a limit of one Storytime theme per request. Please allow 3-4 days for your request to be processed.

Each pre-made bundle of 3-5 books will help you to get in and out of the library quickly and leave with a great selection of books your kids will love!
