New Teen-Designed Library Card Available for TeenTober

Lincoln City Libraries is pleased to announce that a new teen-designed library card is now available. Created by Lincoln teenager Ellie Little, the design features pairs of animals reading together and reflects the welcoming atmosphere of the library and the joy of reading with others.

The release of the new card coincides with TeenTober™, a nationwide initiative from the American Library Association. The program encourages teens to explore their interests, discover new skills and take advantage of the year-round services available to them at public libraries. All ages are invited to sign up for a new library card. Existing cards can also be exchanged for this new design.

Little was announced earlier this year as the winner of the Library Card Design Contest for Teens, which invited local artists ages 12 to 18 to submit designs. After LCL’s Youth and Teen Services Librarians selected three finalists from more than 100 submissions, the public voted online to choose Little’s design, “Everyone Can Read Together,” as the winner.
