Our Response to COVID-19

Here are the answers to our most common questions about Library services during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Are the Libraries open?

As of June 22, all Lincoln City Libraries are open again to the public on their regular schedules. The 10 to 11 a.m. hour on Fridays is reserved for use by those especially vulnerable to illness. Curbside service is no longer available; customers must enter the libraries to pick up reserved materials. The Lied Bookmobile schedule is being posted on a week-by-week basis.

When can I return items I have checked out? When are items that I already have checked out due?

As of June 1, materials can now be returned through our exterior bookdrops at all locations except Williams Branch.

Due dates for materials checked out on or before June 10 have been extended to July 1. Materials checked out starting June 11 will have a due date three weeks after the checkout date.

Please remember that our e-Books and downloadable audiobooks from OverDrive, streaming movies and music from Hoopla, and other online resources remain available. Online materials checked out are automatically returned on their due dates.

If you have Interlibrary Loan checkouts and have questions about their due dates, please contact our Interlibrary Loan office at 402-441-8537.

What about your storytimes and other programs?

All regular Library programming is cancelled until further notice.

We are now providing virtual Toddler Storytimes and Pre-K Storytimes via our Facebook page at 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays!

Our annual Summer Reading Challenge is a little different than usual this year, but it’s still great way to spend the summer!

An Important Note About Summer Reading Program Volunteers

Because of the pandemic, we are not in a position to train and use volunteers in our customary way for the Summer Reading Challenge this year. We know that this will be disappointing for many youth and their parents, but we feel certain that this is the safest decision, given what we know now about social distancing. Thank you for your understanding.

My group had a meeting room reserved. Will we still be able to meet at the Library?

All meeting room reservations are cancelled until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
