Our Response to COVID-19

Here are the answers to our most common questions about Library services during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Are the Libraries open? Can I use a computer?

All Lincoln City Libraries are open again to the public on their regular schedules. The 10 to 11 a.m. hour on Fridays is reserved for use by those especially vulnerable to illness. Visits are limited to one hour with building capacity controls in place. Effective November 6, “renewing” your library visit for an extra hour is not allowed.

The Lied Bookmobile Schedule is available here.

Face coverings are required in conformity with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s requirements.

Computer sessions are limited to one per day. Online computer reservations are not available at this time.

When can I return items I have checked out? When are items that I already have checked out due?

Materials can now be returned at all locations. All returned materials will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in and returned to shelves.

Due dates for materials checked out on or before June 10, 2020 were extended to July 1. Materials checked out starting June 11 have a due date three weeks after the checkout date.

Please remember that our e-Books and downloadable audiobooks from OverDrive, streaming movies and music from Hoopla, and other online resources remain available. Online materials checked out are automatically returned on their due dates.

Interlibrary Loan requests are being accepted as of November 1. If you have Interlibrary Loan checkouts and have questions about their due dates, please contact our Interlibrary Loan office at 402-441-8537.

Are you accepting donations?

Donations of materials are currently being accepted on a limited basis.

What about your storytimes and other programs?

All in-person Library programming is cancelled until further notice.

From September 9 through November 20virtual Toddler Storytimes and Pre-K Storytimes will be available via our Facebook page at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays, and virtual Preschool Storytimes will be available at 8:00 p.m. Wednesdays!

Other virtual programs are being made available through our Facebook page; videos of most of these are also available shortly afterward on this page and on our YouTube channel.

My group had a meeting room reserved. Will we still be able to meet at the Library?

All meeting room reservations are cancelled until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
