For Children: Birth through fifth grade:

Children registering for the Summer Reading Challenge will receive:

  • a book bag
  • a coupon for a free kid’s meal from Slim Chickens
  • a ticket for free admission to a Saltdogs baseball game, Saturday, June 8

Children Completing the Summer Reading Challenge by reading 10 hours, visiting the library 4 times, and completing 10 activities will receive coupons for:

Stories for Everybody
This bilingual (Spanish and English) book group is designed for elementary-age children and their families. A different book is read and discussed each week. To register, call Julie (Spanish speaker)

For Teens: entering sixth through twelfth grades:

Teens registering for the Summer Reading Challenge will:

  • receive a ticket for free admission to a Saltdogs baseball game, Saturday, June 8
  • be entered for weekly drawings for $25 gift cards

LGBTQ Teen Book Club
While there is not an assigned book per week, there will be a LGBTQ-themed list for teens entering 9th – 12th grade, choose what you want to read and then join us for lively discussions in the BMPL canTEEN. No registration necessary. There will be snacks!

Eiseley Branch Library

Tuesdays, June 4 through July 9, 12-3 p.m.
Books vs. Movies
Join the age-old debate, which is better, the book or the movie? We will be reading and discussing books and the movies based on them. After our discussion, the film will be shown and opinions will be tallied. Please be aware that the movie adaptations of these titles are PG-13. Drop by any Eiseley Library desk or call 402-441-4250 to register.
