Summer Reading Challenge

Oceans of Possibilities

Lincoln City Libraries Summer Reading Challenge 2022

Join the 2022 Summer Reading Challenge, Oceans of Possibilities

Everyone wins when they read in the summer. Studies show that children and teens who read for fun and information during the summer go back to school in the fall more prepared to learn. Adults can move along in their lifelong learning journey, or just catch up on their leisure reading. All ages are rewarded for being part of the Summer Reading Challenge. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about the Summer Reading Challenge.

Get Started:

Need help registering? Step by step instructions are here.

This year you can register and start logging Thursday, May 26. In addition to registration prizes, people who sign up before June 1 will be entered into a drawing for $100 gift cards from Super Saver, Target, Walmart, Russ’s and Hy-Vee.

Every person who registers will receive a registration prize. Adults will receive a book bag, and children and teens can choose among several registration prizes. Everyone who registers will also receive a free ticket to a Saltdogs game Friday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m.

If you have a Beanstack account, you can register in one click on or after May 26. Go to our Beanstack site here.

Keep Going and Complete the Challenge:

To complete the challenge, each participant needs to read for ten hours and complete eight activities by July 31.

You can register, log, and complete the entire challenge online but there will be a printed booklet for people who want to keep track of their progress and get stickers.

The Beanstack Tracker app is the easiest way to keep track of your progress in the challenge. Download it in the App Store or Google Play.
