Join the discussion on Walter Mosley’s “Easy Rawlins” series

The Just Desserts mystery fiction discussion group held its final monthly meeting of the year on October 28th, 2021, in person. Attendees discussed the “Easy Rawlins” series written by American author Walter Mosley, with participants having read several different selections by this author. If you read any of the Easy Rawlins novels by Mosley, and would like to contribute your comments about it/them, please do so as a reply comment to this blog post, below.

Titles read by group members included: Devil in a Blue Dress (2 readers, 1 enjoyed it and one didn’t), Charcoal Joe (2 readers, 1 enjoyed it and 1 didn’t), Bad Boy Brawley Brown (1 reader, who enjoyed it and had previously read others in the series), Little Scarlet (1 reader, who highly enjoyed the audiobook version narrated by actor Michael Boatman), Blood Grove (2 readers. 1 who liked it and one who didn’t – the latter wasn’t a noir fan), Blonde Faith (2 reader, one who liked it but thought the sex scenes were poorly written, and a second who couldn’t get past the first chapter), and Cinnamon Kiss (1 reader who had a so-so reaction to it). Two people also mistakenly read Down the River Unto the Sea, which isn’t part of the Easy Rawlins series.
