From January 1st to January 31st, Lincoln City Libraries participated in Beanstack’s Second Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Mark Cuban. We challenged our patrons to read at least 2.5 million minutes during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site. Hundreds of libraries and schools across the nation encouraged their communities to read a target number of minutes and books.
Once again, our readers exceeded our expectations and our total number of minutes read came in just over 3 million.
The top ten readers in terms of minutes, each won a $50.00 gift certificate to The Mill, Francie and Finch Bookshop, Barnes & Noble, or the Marcus Theatres. They are:

We are still doing calculations to determine the five group winners. We are also still waiting to hear if Lincoln was one of the winning communities for the Winter Reading Challenge.
