Each pre-made bundle of 3-5 books will help you to get in and out of the library quickly and leave with a great selection of books your kids will love. Grab & Go Book Bundles are available at Eiseley, Gere, and Walt Branches.

We will try to keep these sets available, but selections may vary, and they go fast! Stop in and grab a bundle!

Bundles include:

  • Read Aloud Grab Bag: Books that are storytime sure hits with the kids (ages 2-6)
  • Things That Go: A collection of books about all types of vehicles (ages 2-6)
  • Animal Antics: For the animal lovers in your house (ages 2-6)
  • Concept Corner: Books about letters, numbers, shapes, sizes, and more (ages 2-6)
  • Feelings: Books for coping with all sorts of feelings—may include titles and flyers from the Read for Resilience collection (ages 4-10)
  • Beginning to Read: Level One—the very first books for those just starting to read (ages 4-6)
  • Beginning to Read: Level Two—the next level up-a little more challenging then level one (ages 4-6)
  • Beginning to Read: Level Three—for kids ready for the next level challenge (ages 4-6)
  • Beginning Chapter Book Grab Bag: Five great books just right for independent readers (ages 7-9)
  • Top 100 Fiction titles: Award-winning fiction for children (ages 8-12)

Here are some great ways to find storytimes, books, activities, and educational fun online!

With a computer, phone, or tablet, you can access thousands of eBooks and audiobooks for free using your library card number and PIN. Call the library if you need assistance with logging in, or if you live in Lincoln or Lancaster County but don’t have a library card yet.

HelpNow for Homework: Free homework help and online tutoring; chat with a tutor through instant messaging from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week for all ages in the areas of math, English, science, social studies, and more. Spanish-speaking tutors are also available.

Libby (from OverDrive): Ten items may be checked out at one time; no limit per month. Look for the Libby app from OverDrive, available from Google Play or the App Store. Lincoln Public Schools students can also check out Lincoln City Libraries’ eBooks and audiobooks using the Sora app. Here’s how!

hoopla: Up to four items may be checked out per month. hoopla also includes movies and music albums. Look for the hoopla Digital app from Google Play or the App Store. (Due to Lincoln Public Schools' restrictions, Library OneCard accounts cannot access hoopla.)

TumbleBook Library is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books) with fiction, non-fiction and foreign language titles, Read-Alongs (chapter books with sentence highlighting and narration but no animation), Ebooks which may be viewed online, and Tumble Puzzles & Games. An app for TumbleBooks is also available. Here's how to get started with the app!

Explora for Elementary/Middle Schools (formerly Explora Primary) is a kids’ interface to several of our resources for biographies, health information, magazine articles and more.

Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia is a student-friendly online encyclopedia covering more than 25,000 topics.

NoveList K-8 is a tool to help you find books to read that you will enjoy.

Primary Search provides full text for more than 70 popular magazines and reference books for elementary school research.

Lincoln City Libraries also provides additional online resources for use inside the Library or outside the Library!

Families are invited to participate in the “Read to a Dog” program offered by Lincoln City Libraries and Healing Heart Therapy Dogs, a local therapy dog organization. The program provides an opportunity for children from kindergarten to age 12 to practice their reading by reading to a dog.

The Spring 2024 session has concluded. Watch for Read to a Dog to return in the Fall!
